During the last month, the European Commission launched a new call for tenders with a view of setting up an advisory network of experts with a specific focus on the economic aspects of education and training. The main goals of the European expert network on economics of education (EENEE) are to advise and support the European Commission in evaluating educational policies and reforms including implications at national, regional, and European levels, as well as contribute to the dissemination of policy-relevant knowledge and evidence.
A central concern in all EENEE work is the economic aspects of education and training, notably the role of education and training in growth, expected returns on investment and the efficiency of investment in education and training. Expertise covering both qualitative and quantitative aspects is required.
