Department of Science and Technology Government of India. Bibliometric study of India’s Scientific Publication outputs during 2001-10: Evidence for Changing Trends. Author, New Delhi, 2012. Pages: 224.

This report examines the scientific publication outputs in India in the period between 2001 and 2010. The results show that, in this timeframe, India’s scientific publication outputs have increased by 13% on average per year, especially in the areas of chemistry, physics, materials science, engineering and clinical medicine. In addition, India’s publications citation impact has increased sharply during the period between the 1980s and 2010, but the authors caution that further increases are still needed in order to strengthen India’s publication impact on the global scientific landscape.
