Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE),
a young organisation with a broad representation across the Asia-Pacific region, has been working to develop higher education in the region, particularly through cooperative ties between universities both within the region and across the world.
On March 8- 9, representatives from regional and national organisations world-wide were present at the second APAIE conference
held in Singapore and entitled “Asia-Pacific Renaissance in Higher Education.” The APAIE Exhibition 2007 showcased the latest programmes and developments from various universities as well as emerging trends in international education and provided networking opportunities for educators and senior administrators in institutes of higher learning.
The event aims at becoming the “Asian NAFSA” or “Asian EAIE.” Several ACA member organisations
were present at the event with national promotional booths in the exhibition. ACA, ÔAD, the Swedish Institute and NUFFIC
held a well-attended joint session on marketing of European higher education.
