The OeAD-GmbH has successfully participated in a Europe wide tender process and will continue to be responsible for the professional and effective implementation of the APPEAR programme. Appear has been conceived, guided and financed by the Austrian Development Agency, the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) to implement a new strategy ‘Higher Education and Scientific Cooperation’ in support of Higher Education and Research for Development on an academic institutional level in the priority regions of the ADC. 

The OeAD-GmbH announces the prolongation of the APPEAR programme until December 2020. The OeAD-GmbH has successfully participated in a Europe wide tender process and will continue to be responsible for the professional and effective implementation of the programme, supported by the Latin America Institute (LAI) and the World University Service (WUS) as subcontractors. The list of eligible countries will remain the same and extended by three new countries, namely Armenia, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova. APPEAR will continue to fund and implement Preparatory Fundings, Academic Partnerships and Master's and PhD grants as well as newly introduced Advanced Academic Partnerships, based on already finalised projects but focusing on new innovative research questions, methodologies and findings.
