The Board for The Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education (SIU) – ACA’s member in Norway – has appointed acting director Mr. Alf Rasmussen as director for a period of six years, as from 19 January 2011.

Rasmussen holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Oslo and most recently held the position of senior advisor on international matters in the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research, Department of Higher Education. From 1988 to 1997 he worked in the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Science and also in the Ministry of Education and Research, Department of Higher Education and Department for Lifelong Learning. From 1997 to 2005 he was engaged as senior advisor in the Nordic Council of Ministers Secretariat in Copenhagen, responsible for higher education cooperation.
