In the recently released "Movetia Jahresbericht 2022" report, the Swiss agency for exchange and mobility and ACA member, Movetia, has outlined its significant strides in fostering international cooperation and mobility in education. A key highlight of these efforts is the increased participation of Swiss higher education institutions in the European Universities Initiative (EUI), which received a significant funding allocation of CHF 6,043,663 (approx. EUR 6 million) in 2022.
Movetia's commitment to higher education extends beyond the EUI. The agency is dedicated to ensuring Swiss educational institutions can participate in accessible Erasmus+ programs and networks, including the "Centres of Vocational Excellence" (CoVE). These efforts are part of Movetia's broader vision to enhance mobility and cooperation in education, as detailed in their annual report.
The report announces several initiatives for this Autumn. The first national exchange week, scheduled for November 13 to 17 2023, will coincide with the 175th anniversary of the Swiss Federal Constitution. Additionally, the inaugural Mobility Day, set for autumn 2023, will be held in collaboration with three universities – University of Geneva (UniGE), Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Each university will organise a day with a diverse program to promote mobility, further underscoring Movetia's unwavering commitment to advancing higher education in Switzerland.
