ACA study on transnational education available for download

In the course of 2007-2008 ACA carried out a first-of-its-kind comprehensive overview and analysis of cross-border education by European institutions outside our continent. The study maps the current supply and demand for European transnational education, and analyses the possible opportunities and risks for European providers in this area. It contains five extensive country reports that look in detail into the provision of transnational education, in terms of policies and practice, in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK. Furthermore, the study includes an analysis of the profile of typical transnational education students and their decision making mechanisms, based on a large scale web-survey. The study contains also numerous examples of good practice on partnership selection and models, quality control mechanisms, and main motivating factors for engaging in this relatively new form of international education.

The executive summary and comprehensive country reports can be downloaded from the European Commission website, as well as from ACA’s. The rest of the report will be made available for free download in the coming months.
