The ACA Secretariat would like to welcome former SIU (Norway’s Centre for International University Cooperation) director Ulf Lie to the secretariat. Ulf will be supporting ACA's Director in the management of the organisation in the coming year. He comes from a long and successful career in Norway as an American literature professor and dean of students at Bergen University. Ulf was also the  founder of SIU, has published widely on the internationalisation of higher education, and has enjoyed many years cooperating with ACA. A warm welcome also goes to a new stagiaire Maria Dutarte. As a former employee of the International Programme Office for Education and Training in Stockholm and currently employed in the area of scientific research in developing countries, she has joined ACA for the summer to work on a project around transnational education.

ACA would also like to say farewell and good luck to Project Officer Mihaela Ostafe, who has been instrumental in the launch of the Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association as well as several recent ACA events. Senior Officer Maria Kelo will take a brief maternity leave from ACA and rejoin the secretariat in autumn.
