Last summer saw the launch of a new project involving the collaborative effort of several ACA members (see ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, July 2010). PromoDoc aims to enhance the attractiveness of doctoral-level study in Europe and to improve awareness about opportunities for doctoral study. The project also focuses on facilitating access to European doctoral study amongst students in their home countries, with special emphasis on the industrialised countries and territories of Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States.
One year later, PromoDoc has launched a new website. The site contains information for students from third countries on doctoral study in Europe, with a focus on each of the individual EU Member States. Information for European institutional stakeholders is also available. The project is being implemented by ACA members CampusFrance (project leader), DAAD (Germany), NUFFIC (The Netherlands), the British Council and the Institute of International Education (USA). Also cooperating in the effort is EURODOC - The European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers (Belgium).
