Starting from 2006, a European consortium consisting of the national education agencies EduFrance, DAAD, the British Council and Nuffic will organize European Higher Education Fairs (EHEFs) in the following Asian countries: Thailand, India, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia. The European Commission has selected this European consortium to implement the EHEF Asia project (total value: 2.4 million Euro) in the period 2006-2008. EduFrance will act as the lead agency. The project is funded from the Asia-Link programme managed by the EuropeAid Cooperation office of the European Commission.

The project consists of two key activities in each country:

• a European Higher Education Fair. This will offer HE institutions from all European Member States a platform for promotion in Asia;
• an Asia-Link Symposium, to promote discussion on higher education cooperation between the EU and the respective country, and to demonstrate some of the EU’s activities in this sector that benefit Asia.
