On 27 November, ACA held the last meeting of its General Assembly in Brussels. The association took important decisions. Amongst other things, it elected a new leadership.
Already in June, ACA unanimously elected Ulrich Grothus, Deputy Secretary General of DAAD, as the next ACA President. This decision took effect after the end of the present General Assembly. Ulrich Grothus succeeded Sijbolt Noorda, who had been at the helm of ACA for six years. Members expressed their gratefulness to the outgoing President for his many fine achievements.
The General Assembly also re-elected Stefan Zotti, the Director General of OeAD, as Vice-President: Dana Petrova, the CEO of Czech member DZS, Olivier Tschopp, the Director of Movetia (Switzerland), and Christian Müller, Director for Strategy in DAAD were elected as further Board members. Everyone present thanked outgoing Board members Anette Pieper (DAAD), Bianka Siwinska (Perspektywy Foundation, Poland) and Piet van Hove (Flanders Knowledge Area, Belgium) for their substantial contributions to ACA’s successes in the past years.
ACA happily admitted Slovenia’s internationalisation agency, CMEPIUS, as a new member.
The association also adopted an ambitious work programme and budget for 2018. To further enhance collaboration between members and between members and the ACA Secretariat, six new member-driven working groups were set up. They will substantially contribute to ACA’s 2018 agenda.
