ACA @EGM Seville 2024

EGM Seville 2024, Europe’s largest student-led conference, gathered more than 1,600 participants from over 70 nationalities from around Europe and beyond between 4 and 7 April 2024. This “unforgettable convergence of minds, ideas, and dreams” was possible thanks to the hard work of ESN Spain volunteers and support of the Erasmus+ Spanish National Agency (SEPIE), the University of Seville and the University Pablo de Olavide.

The event started with a Flag Parade, a traditional walk of the Erasmus Generation celebrating unity in diversity with the colours and flags of their countries, followed by the Opening Ceremony featuring high-level EU and Spanish official representatives. Over the course of three days, more than 170 sessions under the theme of "Removing Barriers for Active and Equal Participation" were organised to navigate a path towards more inclusive and accessible mobility programmes.  ACA was represented in two sessions dedicated to the future of Erasmus+ moderated by ESN Director Wim Gabriel, and to the empowerment of young female leaders

Parallel to the sessions held on Friday, the participants could attend the EGM Expo, showcasing academic, mobility, and employment opportunities for the Erasmus Generation. In line with the theme of the event, ESN and Eurail launched an exclusive Interrail Global Pass for Erasmus+ participants right before EGM, which offers a green travel solution for students travelling to and from their Erasmus+ mobility.

ACA also participated in a high-level expert panel which evaluated the applications presented by five finalists of the Erasmus Destination of the Year 2024: Istanbul (Türkiye), Nicosia (Cyprus), Porto (Portugal), Seville (Spain), and Sofia (Bulgaria). This competition rewarded the efforts of the ESN Porto team to welcome and support all international students in close collaboration with local institutions to ensure better and more inclusive mobility.

The ACA Secretariat team is looking forward to attending the EGM 2025 in Ancona, Italy.
