The latest international ACA conference took place in Vienna from 30 November to 2 December. The event was organised in cooperation with ACA’s Austrian member the ÖAD and it gathered some 160 participants and speakers at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. The theme of the conference was ‘The future of the university’ and its aim was to look into the different factors than influence universities and their future, ranging from population ageing to the demands of the labour market. Special focus was given to some key elements of the Lisbon strategy and most specifically to the Education and Training 2010 agenda, including issues like attractiveness, governance and financing of universities.
