On 30 November, ACA member SAIA (Slovak Academic Information Agency) hosted the 6th international conference DAMAI VI: 'Day of Academic Mobility and Internationalisation VI'. The objective of the conference was to create an occasion for the representatives of the Slovak higher education institutions (HEIs) and research policy makers – including international guests professionally engaged in international cooperation and internationalisation of their institutions – to discuss and reflect on the current issues and challenges relevant to the internationalisation of HE in Slovakia.
The conference also provided a great platform for sharing and transferring experience and good practices with focus on the concept of internationalisation at home, quality assessment of internationalisation and HR development as a part of internationalisation strategy of research organisations. The event combined interactive group sessions that enabled the exchange of best practice and experience among all participants with talks/speeches and panel discussions aiming to draw the attention to various aspects of academic mobility and internationalisation. Among the highlights of the conference were the contributions by ACA Director Bernd Wächter and Gábor Dobos, Head of Study in Hungary Unit at the Tempus Public Foundation.
DAMAI VI was organised within the framework of programmes provided by SAIA, under contracts with the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, the European Commission and other partner organisations.
