The Higher Education Forum on Digitalisation is a joint project by the Stifterverband, the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) and the Centre for Higher Education (CHE). The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. More than 70 experts are addressing the opportunities for and challenges of digitalisation for universities in the Higher Education Forum on Digitalisation, and, have summarised the most important results, assessments and requirements in a position paper published for its mid-term conference. The position paper forms the basis for discussion in further talks on specific measures with decision-makers in business, research and politics. In 20 Thesis the paper discusses the potential for and challenges of digitalisation for academic teaching, the higher education system and the necessary political framework conditions.
An overview of the most important points comprise:
- The relationship between digitalisation and the development of higher education
- The relationship between digitalisation and academic teaching
- Overcoming barriers in digitalisation to increase potential (University Structures, Financing, and Regulatory Framework)
