The Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS)

The Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS) is Austria’s leading provider of labour-market related services. The AMS matches candidates with job openings and assist jobseekers and companies who turn to us by offering advice, information, qualification opportunities and financial assistance.

Within the framework of the Federal Government’s policy of full employment, the AMS renders a major contribution to preventing and eradicating unemployment in Austria. Commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs Health and Consumer protection, the AMS assumes its role as an enterprise under public law in close cooperation with labour and employers’ organisations.

 

The Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) is a fund of the Republic of Austria and offers integration services at a national level.

The ÖIF is a partner of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs along with many responsible authorities on integration and migration in Austria. The fund runs integration centres located throughout Austria offering information and counselling services.


The ÖIF focuses its activity on

  • Recognised refugees, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, and third-country nationals
  • People from a migrant background
  • Institutions, organisations and key communicators in integration, social affairs and education
  • Austrian society

 

Libraries: all university libraries are also open to the general public, too: usually an annual fee will be mandatory. The national library is also accessible to the general public.
