The Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) has created an in-depth online resource of the results of Erasmus+ in higher education from 2014 to 2020. With all projects from the previous programme cycle now wrapped up, it’s an ideal moment to reflect on the programme's impact and achievements.
The resource features clear statistics, engaging infographics, and three news articles analysing the programme's broader impact on Finnish higher education. It’s designed as a tool for higher education institutions, policymakers, and practitioners engaged in international cooperation. The resource not only highlights Erasmus+'s contributions to the internationalisation of Finnish higher education but also provides insights into participation rates, mobility patterns, and funding allocations.
EDUFI hopes the findings from Finland will serve as a valuable tool for the wider higher education community and ACA’s audience. The data can be freely used by colleagues and audiences around the world, in presentations or reports, contributing to the discussions around internationalisation in higher education.
Looking ahead, EDUFI anticipates these insights will support the development of future initiatives focused on strengthening international mobility and cooperation. With Finland focusing on the current Erasmus+ programme period (2021–2027), the lessons learned from the previous cycle will inform new strategies and create opportunities for students, staff, and institutions, while also setting the stage for what lies beyond 2027.
