Hungary hosts international CEEPUS Workshop and Conference

Hungary, serving as the CEEPUS chair from 2023-2025, recently hosted the Strengthening Networks, Expanding Horizons international workshop and conference on September 24-25, 2024, organised by the Tempus Public Foundation. This event focused on enhancing collaboration across Central Europe through the CEEPUS programme, which fosters long-term professional networks in higher education.

The workshop, held on the first day, welcomed 18 representatives from National CEEPUS Offices across eight countries. Participants prepared for the upcoming CEEPUS Phase IV, discussing new programme elements and strategies to increase participation.

On the following day, nearly 100 participants from 53 universities in 11 countries attended the conference. In his opening remarks, Richárd Bodrogi, Director General of Tempus, emphasised the importance of sharing achievements and building professional contacts. CEEPUS Secretary General Michael Schedl presented upcoming programme innovations, setting the stage for group discussions on enhancing short-term programmes, such as summer schools and student exchanges.

The conference concluded with shared insights from session leaders and networking opportunities, receiving positive feedback for its friendly atmosphere, practical discussions, and strong organisation.
