A new funding opportunity is now open for higher education institutions within the European Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. Funded by the European Union and implemented by ACA members, Nuffic and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the SCOPE-HE programme aims to advance higher education and technical vocational education and training (TVET) by fostering closer ties between EU and ASEAN institutions. 

The SCOPE-HE Academic Connectivity Grant, part of the EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package – Higher Education Programme, supports sustainable academic partnerships, focusing on research collaboration, teaching, and connectivity across regions. The grant is open to HEIs from both ASEAN and EU Member States that will coordinate clusters of four to six institutions to jointly design and implement cross-regional academic initiatives. These activities can include researcher and academic staff exchanges, PhD mobility programmes, curriculum enhancement, collaborative publications, and networking events. 

This funding prioritises projects in three key areas: 

• Green Transition 
• Digital Transformation 
• Blue Economy
