The Erasmus Student Network held the second edition of the Erasmus Generation Meeting (EGM) in Bucharest, Romania, in early April. Attended by over 1,000 participants, the event brought together student mobility alumni, as well as representatives of partner organisations, EU institutions, National Agencies for Erasmus+, higher education institutions, and associations, including ACA.

The event featured over 100 sessions dedicated to a range of topics including youth participation, sustainable mobility, and the future of the Erasmus+ programme. ACA supported the event with interventions at four different sessions.

• In the opening session on Friday 7 April, ACA Director Irina Ferencz, Alexandre Ricard from Pernod Ricard, Luís F. L. de Amorim from EPSO and Laura Rumbley from the EAIE discussed the type of skills that today's youth, and the Erasmus generation in particular should have in order to progress in their future careers and also address the relevance of various skillsets in different fields.
• In the panel dedicated to the future of mobility and internationalisation moderated by ESN President Juan Rayon Gonzalez, Angeliki Psychogyiou, Policy and Project Officer at ACA, Svava Finsen from the Erasmus+ team of the European Commission, Piet Van Hove, the EAIE President, Andra Dobre from the Romanian National Agency and Michela Cobelli, Head of International Mobility at Pavia University addressed different ways of improving mobility from various perspectives, highlighting the horizontal priorities and how they have transformed the Erasmus+ programme.

• In the panel on the European Universities Initiative, ACA Director Irina Ferencz and Catarina Moleiro from the Coimbra Group Office discussed, together with students active within ESN, possibilities to empower students and student organisations to take part in this innovative action.

On Saturday 8 April, ACA presented a poster showcasing the EU funded HIBLend project, aiming to raise interest in and enhance the capacity of higher education institutions across Europe to develop high-quality blended mobility opportunities for students. The event concluded with an award ceremony, in which the city of Ghent, where ESN has originated from, was named the Erasmus Destination of the Year 2023.
