The 2022 project call of the "European Universities" initiative has been expanded, allowing the participation of all educational institutions that are part of the European Higher Education Area. Swiss universities will now be able to join one of the existing European Universities Alliances or a new one, as associated partners. Thanks to the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), CHF 6 million will become available, while ACA member Movetia will be ensuring the smooth running of the participation process for Swiss universities.

ACA, as a strong supporter of the involvement of EU’s closest partners in higher education and research, welcomes this decision that will reinforce the excellence dimension of the initiative and provide the opportunity to Swiss higher education institutions to develop new cooperation activities and contribute their high quality of education and their diverse skills.
