EURAXESS Ireland operates a website basted career advice platform dedicated to early career stage researchers. The website offers a selection of useful tools which can be used to expand researchers’ careers in academia and beyond. Researchers can use the service to link with a network of career development professionals across the higher education sector in Ireland.
University College Dublin Research Skill and Development Service
Set within the broader UCD Career Development Centre, the Researcher Career Support Hub is designed to specifically meet the needs of postdoctoral researchers. It is a bespoke service targeted at postdoctoral researchers that benefits from its introduction to the thousands of leading local, national and international recruiters engaged by the Centre annually. Even if some of these employers are primarily targeting students for recruitment purposes, situating the Researcher Career Support Hub within the Centre opens dialogue on recruiting research staff into appropriate positions.

The UL Researcher Development Programme gives postdoctoral researchers an opportunity to enhance their skills in key areas identified by Vitae as essential in building excellence within the research community. These form the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF). The framework is structured into four domains covering the knowledge, behaviours and attributes of researchers. It sets out the wide-ranging knowledge, intellectual abilities, techniques and professional standards expected to do research, as well as the personal qualities, knowledge and skills to work with others and ensure the wider impact of research.
