Like every year, ACA will open its 2020 series of European Policy Seminars with What’s new in Brussels? The seminar will be held on 24 January in Brussels. Its prime focus will be the new Erasmus Programme (2021-2027). More in detail, the seminar will deal with:

• Blended student and staff mobility
• New ways of managing European and international credit mobility
• Automatic recognition
• Erasmus without papers
• The new Europass and e-credentials
• The new KA2: partnerships for cooperation, partnerships for innovation and partnerships for excellence
• Synergies between the future Erasmus Programme and Horizon Europe
• Sustainable Erasmus: the programme’s carbon footprint and how to reduce it
• Inclusive Erasmus and
• First experiences with the European Universities Initiative and with national co-founding schemes.

This seminar addresses primarily staff from higher education institutions (HEIs) specialised on the international dimension. Next to heads and staff of international relations offices, these can be vice-rectors for internationalisation or for teaching and learning, for example, or faculty deans. But the event is also for stakeholder organisations from the academic sector, government and international organisations, like OECD, UNESCO or the Council of Europe, to name but some examples. The bigger part of the seminar will be a plenary event. But there will also be parallel sessions of a workshop character in the afternoon, on inclusion and on sustainability, respectively.

In selecting speakers for this event, ACA stayed loyal to it long term policy expressed in the motto ‘only the best’. Most speakers are from the European Commission, so that participants get the news right ‘from the lion’s mouth’. Other presenters and discussants come from Erasmus+ National Agencies and from higher education institutions.
