This dataset will be used across the UN system to monitor and benchmark progress towards the international education targets of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and Education for All (EFA). It includes regional averages and national data for about 200 countries and territories that will be featured in international publications and databases, such as the EFA Global Monitoring Report, MDG Report and UNICEF’s State of the World’s Children.

The new dataset covers all levels of education – from pre-primary to tertiary. It also includes indicators on a wide range of policy issues, such as the completion of primary education, international student mobility, the supply of qualified teachers and education financing.
