The International Association of Universities (IAU) has published its 2011 edition of the World Higher Education Database (WHED). The annual IAU publication is a cyclopedic higher education resource that contains information on

• the education systems and credentials of over 180 countries;
• information and admission criteria for national and overseas students;
• quality assurance and recognition systems;
• contact details for national bodies;
• location and description (including type of institution, officers, academic divisions, degrees, student services, etc) on some 15 000 higher education institutions offering at least a post-graduate degree or a four year professional diploma.
