Frédérique Vidal, French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and his Polish counterpart, Jaroslaw Gowin, Minister of Science and Higher Education, have announced on 5 February that 2019 will be the Franco-Polish Scientific Year. 2019 marks 90 years since the beginning of diplomatic relations between Poland and France.
This initiative, launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Research of both countries, aims at fostering cooperation between France and Poland, in particularly strategic areas such as higher education and research. The Scientific Year will focus on exchanging practices and sharing experiences on projects such as Horizon2020, on scientific and technological research and on researchers’ mobility.
The official kick-off event will take place in Paris next March in the context of the 1st Franco-Polish Forum of rectors and university presidents, while the closing event will be organised in December 2019 in Poland. Further information will be published soon on the websites of the Embassy of France in Poland and the Embassy of Poland in France.
