The German government and the Länder have started their joint initiative Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung (quality-oriented teacher training). Through this programme German higher education institutions can submit project proposals in the next four months and present how they intend to improve the quality of teacher training. The German government will support the initiative with EUR 500 million for the next ten years.
