The Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA) celebrates this month the 20th anniversary of its existence, activities and achievements. This milestone will be marked during the last weekend of October with events involving members and former UNICA presidents, hosted by the University of Vienna. 

UNICA is a network of 42 universities from the capital cities of Europe, committed to promoting and leveraging academic excellence, integration and co-operation among its members.  UNICA also endeavours to foster the development of the Bologna process and aims to facilitate the efforts of the universities of Central and Eastern Europe to progress smoothly towards integration into the European Higher Education Area.
