The European Commission has granted EUR 1 million to the European Humanities University Trust Fund. The donation is part of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights’ (EIDHR) Annual Action Programme 2009 and is the second of this size, following the EUR 1 million donated by the Commission in 2008.

The Trust Fund is the main channel for giving financial support to the European Humanities University (EHU) – a Belarusian university in exile. The Commission is the biggest single donor, responsible for more than half of the Fund’s entire financial contributions.
