IIE Launches ground-breaking 10-year alumni tracking study for the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program

The Institute of International Education (IIE) has launched a 10-year longitudinal study which aims at examining the impact of the Ford Foundation International Fellowship Program (IFP). With more than 4 300 alumni spread all over 22 countries, the Ford Foundation International Fellowship Program (IFP) represents an important scholarship programme for aspiring students from marginalised backgrounds, giving them the chance to earn a graduate degree and allowing them to use their new skills and knowledge on behalf of their communities in order to tackle the problems of their countries of origin. The IFP was launched in 2001 and has since then allowed its beneficiaries to pursue their studies in more than 600 universities in almost 50 countries across the globe.

Global Innovation Initiative: Multilateral Research Partnership

The governments of the United States and the United Kingdom launched an initiative to strengthen multilateral cooperation through a grants programme with focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)-related issues: the Global Innovation Initiative. The initiative aims at strengthening the partnership in higher education between the USA and the UK and Brazil, China, India and Indonesia and will offer in total ten grants of up to USD 250 000.

IIE-led WeTech Consortium brings together innovative partners; sets $10 Million goal

At this year’s Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting, the Institute of International Education announced the launch of Women Enhancing Technology (WeTech), a new CGI Commitment to Action to help women and girls enter and succeed in technology careers. WeTech will train women and girls, build networks and offer professional opportunities across Africa, India and the United States, developing the skills needed to fuel technological and economic growth.
