“Everyone wants a world-class university. No country feels it can do without one. The problem is that no one knows what a world-class university is, and no one has figured out how to get one“
This is the verdict on the ‘world-class university’ of Philip Altbach of Boston College, who notes that the concept is as hotly debated as it is vague and little understood. Altbach is a leading expert on this issue and will bring his expertise directly to ACA’s next European Policy Seminar—World-class: the brave new world of higher education and research—on 15 October.
Joining Philip Altbach for this session is a host of other highly qualified speakers. Among them are Dirk van Damme (OECD), Gero Federkeil (CHE), Peter van der Hijden (European Commission, DG Research), Robert Coelen (Stenden University) and Sabine Behrenbeck (German Council of Science and Humanities). It is with pleasure that we invite you to join us for what will undoubtedly be a lively debate!
Do not forget: if you are a subscriber to the ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, you will receive a EUR 20 discount for this event.
