The Rise in Global Student Safety Concerns

British Council. The Rise in Global Student Safety Concerns. Author, London, 2012. Pages: 27.

This report presents the results of research on the perception of threats to the safety of international students. Over 160 000 students participated in an online survey conducted between 2007 and 2012. The results show that, since 2007, safety has become an increasingly important factor influencing students’ decisions about where to study abroad.  According to the report, the United Kingdom was rated as the safest country to study, followed by Canada. Israel and South-Africa occupied the bottom two positions in perceived safety for study destinations.
