Significant results in Hungarian EHEA project

Tempus Public Foundation (TPF) in partnership with the Ministry of Human Capacities successfully closed the project: Continuing EHEA reforms in Hungary. The project aimed to support internationalisation, to foster mobility and the usage of EHEA tools, to enhance capacities of HEIs, to improve quality of teaching and learning (T&L), and to promote innovation and university-business cooperation.

TPF organised national and international expert workshops on mobility windows in order to increase mobility and credit recognition. HEI leaders were addressed with strategic issues, experts and HEI representatives from Central and Eastern Europe discussed the challenges and opportunities of introducing mobility windows in their countries. A guide on MW was compiled and is available in English.

The main initiatives and achievements of the project were:

  • an Internationalisation Award for HE staff to collect bottom-up initiatives in innovative T&L. 103 applications mostly from teachers and HEI staff were submitted, 8 were awarded. Best practices are searchable in an open, online database and were presented at thematic workshops. A blended course on learning outcomes-based course development and ICT-based T&L was organised to support HE teacher development.
  • Tempus Business Café series continued to promote university-business cooperation, this time focusing on mentoring domestic and foreign trainees.
  • EHEA and mobility lessons for secondary school students continued to encourage them to participate in mobility programmes during their academic studies. Alumni students shared experiences of their studies abroad adding basic information on EHEA.
  • The EHEA Information Portal was further developed, providing information for students. The portal is a starting point for information on higher education, the EHEA and the Bologna Process.

Tempus Public Foundation would like to thank all the experts and colleagues (especially from ACA members and the Secretariat) who have supported the success of the Hungarian EHEA project. TPF hopes to continue this kind of cooperation in the future, as well.
