National Agency DAAD publication on digitalisation in the ASEM Education process

The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is an intergovernmental process fostering dialogue and cooperation among 53 partners in Europe and Asia on various issues. In line with the ASEM Education Process, the Erasmus+ National Agency for Higher Education Cooperation at the German Academic Exchange Service (NA DAAD) hosted the conference ASEM Education in a digital world: Bridging the continents – connecting the people?, which took place in November 2018 in Cologne, Germany. For this occasion, young researchers from ASEM member countries were invited to exchange their academic findings and research interests on the topic of digitalisation.

The NA DAAD has now published their contributions, dealing with digital mobility, intercultural connectivity, qualitative virtual learning and the challenges of the Industry 4.0. The publication raises important issues for transnational cooperation in education between Europe and Asia in the era of digitalisation. Among others, it provides inputs on

  • collaborative online international learning (COIL);
  • intercultural engagement through virtual mobility;
  • how to create MOOCs for South East Asian Audiences through co-design;
  • how to define a framework for Digital Global Collaboration Cultures.
