Mutual recognition of Swiss and French university diplomas

As a result of a new framework agreement between the University Rectors’ Conference of Switzerland (CRUS) and France, signed on 10 September 2008 in Paris, university diplomas will mutually be recognised for further studies in the other country. The agreement applies to degrees conforming to the Bologna reform.

More student mobility, flexibility of study programmes, transparency in European higher education, and cooperation with the labour market: these are the core objectives of the new agreement. The 2008 agreement replaces the previous one, which only applied to the member universities of the Rectors’ Conference of the Swiss Universities (CRUS). The 2008 agreement includes the degrees awarded by member universities of the Conférence des Directeurs des ?coles Françaises d’Ingénieurs (CDEFI), the Rectors’ Conference of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences (KFH) and the Swiss Rectors’ Conference of Universities of Teacher Education (COHEP) as well.
