Germany: National report on education 2014

The fifth national report on education in Germany has been published. It analyses the entire structure of the education system from early childhood education and school education to vocational training, higher education and adult education. This year’s report has put an emphasis on education of people with disabilities. Main challenges in the area of higher education is the high drop-out rate in schools and universities as well as to balance vocational and academic training by e.g. recruiting those students dropping their university studies into vocational education programmes.

The national report on education periodically presents a major empirical review which covers the entire German education system. Published every two years, each report provides indicator-based information about the general conditions, features, results and output of education processes.
