EU support for students from Belarus

The European Commission has issued a call for proposals to support students from Belarus studying in Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. The EU4Belarus – SALT (Support for Advanced Learning and Training) call is funded through the “EU4Belarus: Solidarity with the people of Belarus” programme launched in October 2020.

In total, 150 Belorusian students who already study at universities in the four target countries and those who only intend to start their studies at Bachelor or Master’s level in the academic years 2021/22 and 2022/23 will be awarded monthly scholarships of EUR 450 during the entire period of study.

Priority will be given to applicants who were repressed during the protests related to the 2020 presidential election and forced to leave Belarus. Students experiencing financial difficulties or those with disabilities are also eligible to apply for funding.

The application deadline for current students and those starting in 2021/22 is 6 September 2021. The second round of applications aiming to support students starting in 2022/23 will be launched in 2022.
