BARI, short for “Baltic Science Network Mobility Programme for Research Internships”, enables PhD candidates to recruit BA and MA students to do a research internship for up to three months in their research project. The BARI programme provides students with a scholarship for their stay abroad and DAAD is supporting the matchmaking between scholarship holders and PHD research projects. The programme is currently open for offers from PhD candidates from the Baltic sea region. They can apply until the 8 March on the BARI portal.

BARI is a joint initiative of the Baltic Science Network (BSN), including Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Russia and (with observer status) Belarus.

BARI was developed upon the model of the DAAD programme RISE (research internships for science and engineering). Both initiatives, RISE and BARI, will be presented at the joint event of DAAD, Diku, Vluhr and ACA “Minding the gap - higher education, research and innovation in international cooperation”, on 12 March in Brussels.
