Study in Europe seminar for European Higher Education Experts 11-12 January 2016, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The second out of five Study in Europe seminars planned in 2015-2016, took place on 11 and 12 January 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together experts from Brazilian higher education institutions, as well as representatives of national education agencies and bodies in Europe, such as DAAD, EP-Nuffic, OeAD and Campus France.

During two exciting days, the ACA team and the European Higher Education Experts (EHEEs) shared information on EU-Brazil mobility and study opportunities in Europe for Brazilian students, they exchanged ideas and made proposals for cooperation within the framework of the project and beyond. The experts shared with ACA their experiences in working with European HEIs and national agencies and showed keen interest in mobility opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ and Horizon2020 programme. A variety of mobility schemes is particularly important for Brazilian universities now when the Science without Borders programme has come to a halt in the face of country┬┤s volatile economic situation and consequent budget cuts.

Our participants, who are looking for ways to help their students experience studying abroad, have expressed strong will to share relevant information with their students and academics, and to work together to create a strong network of European Higher Education Experts in Brazil, as well as to cooperate with their colleagues in the other four countries where the networks are being created.

Once again, ACA would like to thank all participants at the seminar for a productive and creative event and we look forward to successful cooperation!
