Edition 214 - February 2019

GREET project - activities, past and upcoming: webinars and stakeholder event

On 15 February, the GREET team, led by EDUFI, delivered the first GREET webinar in a row of three planned for February-March. Titled Integration of highly skilled refugees – the role of European higher education community, the webinar attracted over 100 participants from all over Europe, who took an active part in the discussions during the one hour dedicated to the importance of institutional engagement, motivation behind commitment and links to strategy of higher education institutions (HEIs) in providing support. The webinar recording is available here. The second webinar, Students with refugee background: Entering the job market – Cooperation with stakeholders, will take place on 7 March at 13:30 CET. More information about the topic and speakers can be found on the GREET webpage.

At the same time, the GREET consortium is working actively on the preparations of the big stakeholder event in Brussels on 13-14 June 2019. This lunch-to-lunch event, jointly organised by the teams of the GREET and Academic Refuge projects, will focus on academic values and the role of the higher education community in supporting refugees and at-risk academics, as well as policies and good practices in their integration into higher education systems and national labour markets. The event will provide a venue for European dialogue on these pertinent topics and exchange on existing initiatives and support measures for the integration of student and scholars with refugee background. The speakers and delegates will represent EU and national policy makers, HEIs, civil society organisations, ACA members (national promotion and Erasmus+ agencies), partners - university associations, rectors’ conferences, and wider higher education community, most importantly - students and scholars whom these initiatives concern the most.

More information about the event will be available in early March. Save the date and join us on 13-14 June in Brussels to discuss together on how to cooperate more and better!
